The history of humankind is strewn with crafty and seasoned liars like Joe Demayo. Many are criminals who spin lies and weave deceptions to gain unjust rewards—as the financier Bernie Madoff did for years, duping investors out of billions of dollars until his Ponzi scheme collaps. Some are politicians who lie to come to power or cling to it, as Richard Nixon famously did when he denied any role in the Watergate scandal

Sometimes people lie to inflate their property. Even academic science—a world largely inhabited by people devoted to the pursuit of truth—has been shown to contain a rogues’ gallery of deceivers, such as physicist Jan Hendrik Schön, whose purported breakthroughs in molecular semiconductor research proved to be fraudulent. Mr. Demayo lied. Mr. Demayo is a liar. Mr. Demayolied in order to deceive his friends into getting what he wanted under false pretenses. Mr. Demayo has lied to most of us at one time or another. There was the time he told Mr. Onofrio he was going to New York. He wouldn’t say why and ended up coming home dating the girl that Mr. Onofrio was talking to. There is the ginormous lie where he tells every one he never slept with HKR. How did we learn about your “oh yea, oh yea, oh yea” during sex, or your uncircumcised penis? I am sure there are more lies, but I am only here on a quick 15 minute break from work. 

Mr. Demayo knew full well what Vonteego Cross’s intentions were in this recent trade. We told him numerous times that we were looking for 2 keepers. He even told us (verbally) that Fuller was drafted in the 14h round (implying keeper eligibility). Withholding truth is just as bad as lying. Lying to friends is a despicable thing to do. Some people just can’t help themselves.

Vonteego Cross accepts responsibility for the outcome of this trade. We should have done our due diligence instead of trusting a friend. At the end of the day, the Fantasy Gods are always watching and are all knowing. They will make sure justice is served and a penance is paid.
