1. Great week for The Rookie, as not only did he get his third win of the year, he took over the total points scored lead in the league, and is the only team to score above the league average every week this season. It is clear he is one of the elite, if not the best team in Pussy Palace right now.
2. The Romosexuals are the only team to have faced an above average team every week so far, this year.
3. The Monstars have faced the most points so far, this year followed by the Romosexuals
4. DTA came back from the dead (one of the lowest scoring teams entering week 4), with the first 200-point output of the season.
5. The easiest schedule so far continues to be Mean Machine, they have not faced an opponent with an above average score yet this year and have faced the least amount of points this year (followed closely by Team GFY).
Stupid Fact: As of Tuesday morning, three sites (Yahoo, CBS, and ESPN) had credited the fumble on the final play of MNF to three different players.
Power Rankings
With the Season (including playoffs) a quarter of the way complete, I decided to take a shot at Power Rankings. Note: I value total points for nearly as much as I do record because you can’t control what your opponents does.
1. The Rookie-If it wasn’t for a Hurricane, the Rookie might be undefeated. Despite having two major injuries (Julian Edelman and Greg Olsen), The Rookie is the leading point scorer this year. He has been helped by 1Q fantasy MVP, Kareem Hunt and three top 12 WR’s in Keenan Allen, Tyreek Hill, and Adam Thielen.
2. No Bobby No-The Undefeated league runner ups are second in points scored and tied for second in consistency. The team is undefeated thanks mostly to Russel Wilson and 30 points games from Michael Crabtree and Larry Fitzgerald. They should be in for a tough test this week against the defending league champions Ride or Dies, and having several core players are bye.
3. The Romosexuals-Despite facing the toughest schedule, this 2-2 is consistent across the board. With the two Matt’s at qb (Stafford and Ryan) and benefiting from Ezekiel Elliot doing his best Tom Brady impersonation this team looks like a sure-fire playoff contender. This team also has the number 1 and 4 wrs in fantasy in Diggs and Green.
4. The Trojans- One of the most consistent team’s year in and year out, The Trojans looked poised to be making a run. Led by comeback player of the year Todd Gurley (never forget that Vonteego Cross kept Brock Osweiler over him), and an elite wr corps, The Trojans are an extremely dangerous team. The one weakness on this team is Joe Flacco who is clearly NOT ELITE, no matter what the Super Bowl Ring says
5. Ginger Snaps- I LOVE this team when Luck gets back. TY Hilton is a clear number 1 when Luck is on the field and the team has solid production throughout the lineup. Tough decisions on players such as Isaiah Crowell and what two qbs to start since Goff is a legit breakout so far will be issues for Murphy and Ginger. Also, when healthy, CJ Anderson is a top 15 rb. This team has depth and talent, but start/sit decisions are essential to their success.
6. Ride or Dies- 6 and 7 are interchangeable to me, but Ride or Dies get the nod for being a two-time champ and being a little more consistent. Ride or Dies have the two best qbs in the league by far, and two top 10 wrs. The RBS are the true concern with Woodhead injured, but relief might be on the way with Doug Martin and Latavius Murray. This team is on the rise.
7. DTA-the team with the highest score of the season so far, has some talent across the board. This team has many tight ends as qb’s and nearly as many tight ends as rbs. At least they benefitted from Mr. Kissing Titties getting his first start on Monday. Fournette has been a STUD so far and looks like a consistent contributor for this team.
8. Mean Machine- This team has 3 of the top 6 qbs so far, this year. Despite that, this Giants heavy team has underperformed so far this season. The WR’s have been the biggest disappointment for this team this season. Despite this, adding Cohen was a huge addition giving them three top rbs when Ty Montgomery is healthy. Trading for a second elite wr and getting Beckham healthy would go a long way for this team.
9. Team GFY- If Carr is out a while this team, might be in trouble. Murray has been underwhelming and they have a very volatile wr group. Travis Kelce is an anchor for this team and will need to perform well for GFY to get a playoff spot.
10. Vonteego Cross-Despite the 1-3 record, Vonteego Cross has had some great players…until this week. Dalvin Cook tearing his acl is bad for a once solid starting rb duo. Thankfully, they could get Lamar Miller low before his breakout game. Also, the most consistent wr on this team has been DeVante Parker. This team must make a trade for some depth (which they are looking to do) if they hope to compete this season. Jay Cutler has been one of the worst qb’s on a ppg basis this season.
11. All Fired Up-On Paper this looks like a good team. Unfortunately, Christian McCaffree and Joe Mixon have been underwhelming and Andrew Luck not getting his surgery when he should have has crushed this team (so have the Oakland Raiders). This team will get better, but it might be too little too late.
12. The Monstars-Losing David Johnson has crushed The Monstars. They were built on David Johnson and an elite wr group and this team has neither. Amari Cooper has been the biggest bust so far this season while Dez and Alshon have been number 2’s. The lone bright spot early on has been the play of DeShaun Watson, who is the number 7 qb so far this season.
Most Interesting Game this week might be The Monstars vs. Vonteego Cross. It very well might be a loser leaves town match only 5 weeks into the fantasy season.
